PBC Reveals Men’s Soccer Tournament Bracket

AUGUSTA, GA – The 2019 men's soccer regular season came to a thrilling conclusion on Saturday night and the Peach Belt has released the bracket for the PBC Tournament, which begins this week.  The top six teams in the PBC standings advance to tournament play which begins with two quarterfinals hosted by the higher seed on Tuesday, Nov. 12.  The winners of those two games will join the #1 and #2 seeds, who get a first-round bye, for the semifinals and finals at Blanchard Woods Park in Evans, Ga., on Friday and Sunday, Nov. 15-17.

Young Harris won the 2019 regular-season championship and the top seed for the tournament thanks to a close 1-0 win at Francis Marion on Saturday.  The Mountain Lions win the regular season for the second year in a row and fifth time in the last seven years.  YHC is also the defending PBC Tournament champions, having won their fourth overall title in 2018.

Lander is the second seed entering the PBC Tournament.   The Bearcats won the 2017 tournament and have played in the final for the last four years in a row.  Lander and Clayton State finished in a tie for second in the PBC standings thanks to LU's loss at Flagler on Saturday.  However, Lander held a tiebreak over Clayton State following a 1-0 win in their head-to-head meeting earlier this season.

Clayton State takes the #3 seed and will host one of the two quarterfinal games on Tuesday.  The Lakers have their highest seed since earning a share of the PBC Championship in 2010 and enter the 2019 postseason having won six of their last eight.  Clayton State will host #6 Flagler who scored an upset on Saturday with a 6-2 win over Lander.

Francis Marion is the #4 seed and will host the other quarterfinal game on Tuesday.  The Patriots are 12-3-1 overall on the season and have been ranked as high as #7 in the nation this season.  The Patriots will host #5 North Georgia on Tuesday.  UNG finished in a tie with Flagler at nine points in the PBC standings, but won the tiebreak thanks to a head-to-head win back on Oct. 5.

Game times for Tuesday's quarterfinals will be announced the conference office on Monday morning.
