Mountain Lions ink signing class for women's tennis

YOUNG HARRIS, Ga. | Young Harris College Director of Tennis Andrew Cobb finalized his 2019-20 recruiting class with the addition of two talented newcomers - Fatima Murphy and Teona Urushadze. These additions will join a strong group of returners for the 2019-20 season.

Murphy, an incoming junior from San Pedro Sula, Honduras, joins the Mountain Lions with over 30 collegiate wins.

"Fatima has a great game that helps her compete with anyone across the net," said Cobb "Aside from her on-court abilities, she has two successful years of competing under her belt which is extremely helpful. She has multiple weapons so she'll be able to step on the court and make an immediate impact in singles and doubles for us."
Urushadze, an incoming freshman from Moscow, Russia, was the singles champion at the 2018 Spring Cup and was a semifinalist at the 2018 Eddie Herr Warm Up Tournament. She also captured the doubles championship at the 2018 SCFO Regional Championship.

"Teona is extremely excited to join us, as are we," said Cobb. "She's competed against great competition as a junior so I'm confident that experience will help her be successful here at Young Harris. Her work ethic will help her continue to improve and make an impact in both singles and doubles for the Mountain Lions."

The Mountain Lions open up their 2019-20 schedule with two matches in Mars Hill, North Carolina, Sept. 15. Young Harris will face Lees-McRae College in a 10 a.m. match before facing Mars Hill University at 3 p.m.
