DiNunzio To Join UNCP Tennis Team

PEMBROKE - UNCP tennis head coach Robin Langley announced an addition to her 2009-10 roster on Wednesday afternoon as Toronto native Maddy DiNunzio inked her name to a national letter of intent to continue her playing career with the Braves.

Dinunzio comes to Pembroke following an outstanding prep and club career in the Toronto area. She is expected to make an immediate impact at UNCP.

DiNunzio churned out a 10-7 record as a prep senior and captained her Taddlecreek Private School team to a fourth place finish in the province of Ontario's prep championship tournament. The finish followed a junior campaign in which DiNunzio earned most valuable player honors and captained her Vaughan Road Academy squad to a seventh place finish at the championship event.

A player for the Leaside Flames club organization as well, Maddy is the daughter of Mary and Ernesto DiNunzio. She has a younger brother, Vincent, and is expecting to major in physical education at UNCP.
