GREENWOOD - Lander head softball coach Brandon Duncan today
announced the signing of 10 players who will join the team this
fall.
The signees, with hometown, position and high school, are: Natalie
Batson, Ware Shoals, S.C., infield/outfield, Ware Shoals High
School; Brittney Brogdon, Dalton, Ga., second base/outfield,
Southeast Whitfield High School; Nikki Cumalander, Chapin, S.C.,
infield, Chapin High School/USC-Salkahatchie; Shelly Grimsley,
Alvin, S.C., left-handed pitcher/outfield, Timberland High School;
Bailee Lee, Starr, S.C., right-handed pitcher, Crescent High
School; Hayley Leissner, Jefferson, Ga., right-handed pitcher, East
Jackson High School; Bree Shirley, Starr, S.C., outfield, Crescent
High School/Spartanburg Methodist College; Holly Woodrum, Chesnee,
S.C., infield/outfield, Chesnee High School; Pamela Stevens,
Lexington, S.C., utility, Airport, S.C.; and Lindsey Traynham, Ware
Shoals, S.C., utility, Ware Shoals High School/Anderson
University.
"I am really excited about this recruiting class," said Duncan, who
is beginning his second year as Lander's head coach. "Our staff hit
the ground running to put this class together and I couldn’t
be more pleased. We have a good mix of pitching, hitting and
defense and I expect each of them to have a great impact on our
program from the start.

extremely important to us. Most importantly, they bring great
