
Pannu went 6-0 as the Cougars captured the PBC regular-season championship and top seed for this week’s PBC Tournament. The junior from Wellington, New Zealand, defeated #21 Eban Straker-Meads of #40 Auburn-Montgomery 6-7, 6-4, 10-8, then swept #20 Pedro Ecenarro of #23 Georgia College 6-3, 6-2 and Maxime Gayte of Hawaii Pacific 6-2, 6-0, all at #1 singles. In doubles, he partnered with Matei Avram to beat AUM’s Meads/Veglia 8-5, GC’s Ecenarro/Kohn 8-3 and HPU’s Loccisano/Erro 8-1. Ranked #2 in the nation in singles, he has the highest winning percentage of any #1 singles player in the PBC at 17-3 overall. He is also 7-1 against nationally-ranked opponents and 8-0 against conference opponents.
