PBC Announces Men’s Soccer Preseason All-Conference Team

AUGUSTA, GA – The Peach Belt has announced the 2019 men's soccer preseason All-Conference team.  The 11-player team features athletes from five different PBC institutions.  Defending league champion Young Harris leads with four selections while Clayton State, Francis Marion and North Georgia had two each and Lander with one.  The team was selected by the league's head coaches.

Seba Andreassen, Young Harris

  • A junior forward from Ålesund, Norway
  • A first-team All-Conference selection in 2018; also named second team All-Region by the D2CCA
  • Tied for fourth in the PBC with seven goals scored and six assists
  • Third in the league with 20 total points
  • Scored both goals in YHC's 2-1 win over Francis Marion in the PBC semifinals last year

Thibault Chretien, Lander

  • A junior midfielder from Laval, France
  • A first team All-Conference selection in 2018, also named first team All-Region by United Soccer Coaches and second team All-Region by the D2CCA
  • Named a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar
  • The 2017 co-Freshman of the Year, he scored two goals and was tied for eighth in the league with five assists

Evan Davis, North Georgia

  • A senior midfielder from Griffin, Ga.
  • Named PBC All-Academic and to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll
  • Played in 15 matches with 14 starts, scoring one goal for two points
  • Helped the team to their third straight third-place (or better) finish in the PBC standings, their most successful run as a part of the league

Jordan Day, North Georgia

  • A senior defender from Beverley, England
  • A PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar
  • Appeared in only three games in 2018, taking a redshirt to return for a fifth season in 2019
  • Made 16 starts and 17 appearances in 2017 with one goal and three assists

Val Feeney, Young Harris

  • A junior midfielder from Roscrea, Ireland
  • A first-team All-Conference selection in 2018 and named first team All-Region by the D2CCA
  • One of three players to start all 19 games for the Mountain Lions last year, he scored three goals with two assists for eight points
  • Ranked in the top-10 in conference-only games in goals, assists and points

Dani Fischer, Young Harris

  • A junior defender from Bruck an der Leitha, Austria
  • A first-team All-Conference selection, he was named first-team All-Region by the D2CCA
  • Named a Google Cloud Academic All-American in 2018; only 13 players in PBC history have earned the honor
  • Named PBC All-Academic, a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar and to the United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-Southeast Region team
  • Started in 18 games in 2018 with one goal and six assists, helping lead a defense that was second in the PBC in goals allowed and goals allowed average

Alex Iglesias, Young Harris

  • A senior goalkeeper from Aliante, Spain
  • A first-team All-Conference selection in 2018, he was named first team All-Region by the D2CCA and second-team All-Region by United Soccer Coaches
  • Named PBC All-Academic, a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Silver Scholar and United Soccer Coaches Scholar All-American
  • Was second in the PBC with a 0.70 goals against average in 2018, the seventh-lowest single-season GAA in PBC history
  • Also ranked second in the league in save percentage and shutouts

Jordan Knight, Clayton State

  • A senior defender from Javea, Spain
  • Named to the PBC All-Academic Team and a PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar
  • Anchored a defense that recorded two shutouts, including a 0-0 double-overtime tie in the PBC quarterfinals, which Clayton State would advance in a PK shootout
  • Played and started in 16 games last year, playing all 90 minutes in all but two

Sam Pollard, Francis Marion

  • A sophomore midfielder and forward from Perth, Australia
  • Started all 16 matches as a freshman and was named second team All-Conference
  • Was third on the team in scoring with three goals and led the squad with six assists for 12 points, finishing tied for fourth in the PBC in assists and for 12th in points
  • Named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll

Mitro Turunen, Clayton State

  • A junior midfielder from Vantaa, Finland
  • Named second-team All-Conference in 2018
  • A PBC Presidential Honor Roll Gold Scholar and named to the All-Academic Team
  • Started all 17 games last year with three goals and three assists for nine points

Sidney Warden, Francis Marion

  • A sophomore forward from London, England
  • Made 10 starts as a freshman, appearing in 14 of 16 games
  • Tied for fifth in the PBC with six goals last year and tied for ninth in points
  • Six goals tied for the team lead and he was second on the squad in points
  • Named to the PBC Presidential Honor Roll
