Men’s Soccer Defender of the Week: Jordan Knight, Clayton State

Knight guided a Laker defense that picked up a shutout in the first game and beat at top-10 team in their second.  The senior from Javea, Spain, played only the first 45 minutes in the Lakers’ 8-0 win over North Greenville, holding them to five total shots in the half.  That led to a showdown of conference leaders at #7 Francis Marion.  The Laker defense bent but did not break, giving up the first goal just after halftime and the second on a PK.  Following that, the Laker defense kept the Patriots off the board for 50 minutes before winning in double overtime.  Clayton State is currently second in the PBC in team goals allowed average and tied for the league lead in shutouts.
