Knight led a Laker defense that allowed just one goal in their first two games as the team started 2-0 for the first time since 2015. The senior from Javea, Spain, was the only Laker to play all 180 minutes in the two games. The Lakers held Anderson to eight shots on goal and one score. After Clayton State took a 2-1 lead in the 55th minute, Knight and the defense throttled any attempted comeback as the Trojans had just three shots the rest of the way. Against Erskine on Saturday, the Lakers limited the Flying Fleet to five total shots, none of them on goal. Clayton State’s 0.50 team GAA is tied with Lander for the lowest of teams that played more than one game in the opening weekend.
