PBC Tournament: Andreassen leads Young Harris in 2-1 win over Patriots in PBC Semifinals

EVANS, Ga.  |  Seba Andreassen scored twice in the second half as No. 1 seed Young Harris College defeated Francis Marion University 2-1 in the semifinals of the Peach Belt Conference Men's Soccer Tournament Friday (Nov. 2) morning at Blanchard Woods Park. 

The Mountain Lions, who are ranked No. 2 nationally, improved to 16-0-0, while the Patriots fell to 9-7-0. The Mountain Lions will play the winner of Friday's (Nov. 2) semifinal match between Clayton State University and No. 7 Lander University Sunday (Nov. 4) at noon. 

Francis Marion jumped to a first half lead in the 23rd minute after a turnover in the back led to Oliver Drakenhammar beating the keeper and sending the ball into the left corner of the net for his sixth goal of the season. 

Andreassen tied the game at 1 in the 69th minute off an assist by Dani Fischer for his sixth goal of the season.

Andreassen gave the Mountain Lions the lead at the 79:15 mark from assists by Carlos Gomez and Alex Jacq for his second goal of the game and seventh of the season. Jacq sent the ball to Gomez from the left side, Gomez sent the ball to Andreassen from the far post who put the ball in the left corner of the net. 

Young Harris outshot the Patriots 22-5 (8-2 on goal), with a 9-0 advantage on corner kicks. 

Christian Kjellsby picked up one save in goal for the Mountain Lions, while Kristoffer Greganaes had six saves between the pipes for Francis Marion.
