Baseball Pitcher of the Week: Caleb Kutsche, Columbus State

Kutsche got the day-one start for the Cougars and delivered eight shutouts innings in a 3-0 win against Erskine. The senior from Marietta, Ga., allowed only four hits and one walk while striking out six.  After allowing two hits in the second, Kutsche set down 12 in a row, not allowing another baserunner until the sixth inning. He set down the side in order four times during the game and no runner reached second base after the second inning.  Of the 19 pitchers currently leading the PBC with a 0.00 ERA, none pitched as long as he did.  He also held batters to a .148 average.
